About Me

I just joined OBOD.  I'm on Gwers 14 of the Bardic Course.   I've been gravitating toward Paganism for a number of years.  One of my favorite books is "The Singing Creek Where The Willows Grow:  The Mystical Nature Diary of Opal Whiteley".  It was one of the things that set me on the path.  I look forward to meeting others on the same path.

I have a BA in psychology and I remember that at the time I was in the midst of my major, the Police came out with their "Synchronicity" album in 1985.  So I got exposure to Jungian thinking on a pop cultural level at the same time I was studying psychology.  I thought Jung was probably the most interesting theorist in the psychological field.  So, it was a pleasant surprise to find out that Druidry has some serious grounding in Jungian archetypes and that Philip Carr-Gomm has a background in psychology.  There were times after college when I did a lot of second-guessing regarding my choice of majors.  I thought that maybe I should have majored in something else.  But, perhaps my instincts at the time were right.  It just took 25 years to know that.

I guess it took me awhile to figure out that I needed to try to friend people, because I joined in November and nothing happened. I was wondering if the group was defunct! Did you go to the Spring Equinox ceremony? I went to the address listed on the map, but the woman who answered the door said it was a Christian home and there was no Druid ceremony there....
